End of the year 2011

It’s been a great year. So many talented singers. I’ve really enjoyed working with this group, all twenty nine of them.
Special thanks to parents for your support and kind words.

No practice

I will be sailing to Ensenada and miss tactics on Tues. April 19.

Talent Show 2011

The show, held on Feb. 16th, was performed in the morning for students and again in the evening for parents. With over thirty acts it lasted two hours. The evening show was combined with the HSA awards ceremony. Chorus opened the show with “My Vampire Buddies” and performed very well.

The talent show is here and should be a great experience for the kids. Chorus will sing “My Vampier Buddies” at the beginning of the show. There are 32 acts and many chorus members are in other acts. They should wear the chorus shirt to school on Wed. Feb 16th and again when they come to the show that night. If your son or daughter is in another act, he/she should bring the clothes needed for that act. There will be ample time to change.
There are some changes in the times/dates.
Everything happens on Wed. Feb. 16th:
8:15 a.m. dress rehearsal/assembly for school. Wear the chorus shirt.
5:45 p.m. come to Mr. Ingram’s room
6:00 p.m. parents go to auditorium for HSA awards
6:15 p.m. talent show begins. Chorus is still first to perform.

Christmas Showstoppers

Well, the hard work finally paid off; Citrus Glen’s chorus had three wonderful performances before the holiday break.

The thirty members of the Cub Chorus sang fresh tunes from Teresa Jennings, who specializes in creating songs for this age group. The material is upbeat and fun to sing, and accessible to young singers as well.
The program included eight songs featuring the whole chorus and 4 solos by Olivia Roth, Sarah Siddique, the 4th grade leaders and Ashlyn Vaglica. Everyone sang well and the parents were very pleased.
This chorus is one of the best I’ve had. Their musicianship is developing very nicely and they have a lot of natural talent. They are mostly 3rd graders but their behavior is more mature. They listen and help each other which is another reason why they excel. I’m very proud of these kids!

Welcome new chorus members

Over thirty third and fourth graders are singing in chorus this year (2010), and it looks like this will be a great year!
Soon we will order chorus shirts for everyone to wear during performances.

Tuesday, December 14, 8:30 and 9:50 AM
Thursday, December 16, 6:30 PM

Review of Spring Performance

Chorus members shined on May 18 in the cafeteria. Mrs. DuPratt welcomed the audience to get things started and the kids were awesome. Most singers were focused and prepared after a good rehearsal earlier in the day. Forgotten lyrics were remembered, attention was payed to the director and smiles appeared on faces of singers and parents as the show progressed. The ten songs presented featured some two-part singing (Don’t Ever Give Up and Show Me Some Respect), some jazz (The Big Band, Dancin’ On The Rooftop, Slick Back Jack) some rock (Nobody’s Perfect, Listen To The Beat, We’re All In This Together, Get Up) and a rap (Get’cha Head In The Game). Section leaders Jake Bograd, Kira Eagle, Aiyana Alvarado and Michael Sanchez were joined by Melanie Bograd and Joie Griffith to perform featured parts in two of the songs. Thanks to parents and chorus members for another great year.

Spring Performance

Please join Citrus Glen’s chorus in the auditorium on Tuesday, May 18th at 6:30 p.m. for our Spring Show. Chorus members should arrive by 6:15 and I will be there by 6:00. Come and bring family and friends!
Chorus will also perform for assemblies on Monday, May 17th at 8:30 and 9:15
Remind chorus members to wear their chorus shirts.

No Chorus Practice

I’m cancelling practice on Thursday, April 22 and Tuesday, April 27 for my annual Ensenada trip.

Talent Show 2010

Chorus was excellent at the 2010 Talent Show. The auditorium was packed for the beginning of the program when the chorus took stage to sing ‘We’re a All In This Together” from High School Musical.
